Is your credit card maxed out? Are you in need of credit card advice? Tens of thousands of Americans are drowning in credit card debt. But you don’t need to be one of them. Some important information has surfaced for credit card holders who are in desperate need of some good credit card advice. The debt on your card isn’t totally your fault you know? Since the almost collapse of the economy in 2007, money has been tight, and bills are usually last to get taken care of. Here’s some credit card advice to help you keep your debt at a minimum and your wallet fuller.

Cut your cards up! Yes, I said it! Once you cut your cards up into little pieces, just pay off the remaining charges, overcharges, and balances. When you take the step of completely ridding yourself of your own debt burden, you will feel free from all tethers. Once the cards are paid off (in due time), you will see your credit score improve considerably. Credit companies won’t tell you this, but it can be a very effective way of improving your financial position. Then once your credit score has improved you can then apply for a credit card with much lower interest rates than you were incurring previously.

If cutting up your cards isn’t an option, you might want to try putting them somewhere where you will forget about them, and hopefully use them less. Or you can give them to a trusted friend of family member. They should keep your card safe and prevent you from using them for unnecessary purchases. Often, card holders are their own worst enemies, and they don’t know when to say no.

Never under any circumstance should you cancel your cards. When you cancel your cards, you usually pay a double or triple disconnection fee. This disconnection fee could amount to thousands of dollars that you have to pay when it’s all said and done. These fees, if not paid off in a timely fashion, can hurt your credit score. Once the damage is done, it is very hard to reverse the damage done, and it can take up to seven years to repair your credit. In that time frame no other credit companies will accept your credit score. You may not be able to get a new car or buy a house. Even employers are now looking at credit scores before hiring employees, to see if they can trust you, and to see if you are responsible. So it is very important to make sure you maintain or improve your credit score constantly.

This advice is not that hard to follow. Using cards can be an impulse decision, or almost like an addiction to some. The best credit card advice to give is to not get a card until you can afford the payments. Ask yourself this question: If you were to lose your job tomorrow, could you handle the repayments?

Credit card debt is something that can be eliminated through various means. You need to choose the right option for you. If you have a lower credit score it should be easier. You can eliminate seventy per cent of the credit card debt that way. Home equity loan, mortgage, settlement and consolidation are some of the ways out. When you are choosing a plan for the elimination of liability you have to be diligent to your decision. You can choose a plan to eliminate credit card debt so that the credit rating does not get much damaged. You can eliminate credit card overdue without applying for any loan whatsoever. It is thus very essential to keep a low credit score.

People in huge amount of arrears are advised to file for bankruptcy. They are not able to settle their financial matters through settlement issues. The plan of bankruptcy would be used as the last way out. If you have a house of your own, the home equity loan or the mortgage is the best ways to get rid of all the credit card debts. All people are not lucky to own a house but you can still come out of the financial mess and you should be in a situation to do so. If you are not in a large amount of debt, you can go for the settlement services. There are some organizations that help you get out of bad credit and give you advice on getting out of your financial issue in the right way. Your creditors may be contacted and your rates would be negotiated. This depends on the ratings of the different organization.

The credit organization helps to settle the financial matters and get you out of your problem in the best possible way. They would help negotiate between the credit card company and the defaulter and help the defaulter with lessening the amount of money. That’s the best way you can help yourself out of debt by selecting the most authentic and the most professional company. After you come out of it, you are a carefree man out of the snares of financial liabilities.

Debt settlement companies are widely available in just about every state however some are just flat out more experienced than others in debt negotiation. That’s why it’s so important for consumers to use debt relief networks. These networks qualify and only accept the best performing debt settlement companies.

If you are a first time credit card user or have had credit cards for years, it is important to know about possible scams that you can be exposed to. Although many credit card companies are perfectly honest, there are also many dishonest ones who want to rip you off. If you are unaware of the ways in which you can be conned or misled then you could end up losing a lot of money. Here are some of the worst credit card scams around and how to avoid them:

Debt suspension

Debt suspension offers are sometimes offered by banks as a way to ´help´ you keep on track with payments. The way debt suspension works is that you pay a certain amount each month so that if you cannot pay your bills then no interest will accrue during this time. Although this might seem like a good idea at first, the benefits are really quite minimal. You cannot use your card whilst you are out of work, and although no interest is being added, your payments are not being paid so once you can work again you still have the balance to pay. In essence you are paying money for something that will not really help you. If you are getting a credit card then make sure that this type of debt suspension offer is not included at a cost to you within your payments. If it is then get it removed and find an independent insurance policy that will help with your payments if you are unemployed.

Advance fees

One of the worst scams around is the advanced fees scam, which targets people are desperate to get hold of a card with good rates. The ´lender´ will offer you a card at a great rate, but the catch is you have to pay them an administration or approval fee up front so that your application is processed. Once you have paid this fee then you probably will never hear from the company again. If you are ever offered a card but are asked to pay a fee upfront, just refuse. Even if you have poor credit you shouldn´t need to pay fees up front for cards. A lender should either accept or reject your application, and fees are not required. Click Here for more Credit Information

Credit protection

One of the most common scams around is to add expensive credit protection to your card in case it is lost or stolen. The extra money you pay for this protection is usually very high, and often covers you for very little. If you report your card stolen immediately then it is unlikely that you will lose much, and other insurance policies or consumer laws often cover you already. If you really want protection then get a separate policy from an independent company that will work out a lot cheaper and will allow you to protect all your cards at once.

If you are getting a credit card, then remember to check and double-check all clauses within the agreement you are signing. If anything seems suspicious at all, then do not sign and find a different company. As long as you are aware of the dangers you will find a fair and honest credit card company who can give you great rates.
